HIGH FLYERS STRENGTHEN LHA-ASRA GROUP BOARD

LHA-ASRA has strengthened its board by making five new appointments.

Sally Jacobson, David Ware, David Betterley and Su Sayer will now sit on the group’s 11-strong board. Sophy Macmillan has been appointed to the position of Company Secretary.

With their fellow members, they will have responsibility for ensuring the organisation is well-governed and achieves its strategic objectives.

Sally Jacobson was Group HR and Change Management Director at London and Quadrant Housing Trust until she recently retired. Under her tenure the Trust achieved the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies ranking for the last 5 years.

Sally is also a non executive Director of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and has more than 20 years experience in performance management and organisational development.

Company Commercial Lawyer David Ware is a Partner with Wake Smith and Tofields solicitors with specialisms in banking, corporate and finance law. He is a Director and Founding Member of Maxim Corporate Finance LLP.

He is also a Trustee of the Home Union Foundation and a Chair of Bethany Village Leprosy Society.

Su Sayer OBE is the co-founder and Chief Executive of United Response, a national charity with a turnover of £60m that supports people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health needs. Su is also Vice-Chair of the Prostate Cancer Charity and a Member of HM Treasury/Department of Work and Pensions Stakeholder Advisory Forum.

She was a Board Member for Southern Housing Group for five years. She was also the first woman in the charitable sector to win the “Women Into Business Award”.

Audit Accountant David Betterley is a former member of Leicester City Council. He was also a member of Melton Borough Council where he chaired the Housing committee.

David has served in other non executive positions in LHA and the Group for many years, and is also its representative on the NHF’s east midlands committee.

Solicitor Sophy Macmillan has been appointed as Company Secretary. She has practised in a range of legal areas including corporate and commercial, civil litigation, landlord and tenant and mergers and acquisitions.

She has been active in Business Networking International and Women In Business. She is also a former tenant of LHA.
